Training in New Caledonia

We spent 10 days in New Caledonia training our Public Affairs team and supporting their activities.  We had three great training sessions.  The purpose of Public Affairs is to make friends for the Church.  We want governments, important opinion leaders, the media, interfaith groups and the people in the countries where we live, to know we are good people who are law abiding citizens and who want to make positive contributions.

While there we were able to make a valuable contact with an editor of the largest paper in Noumea.  We were also able to meet and visit with the former president of the country who is a friend to the church.  He has been to several church events and told us he has a special feeling and is 'uplifted' when he is with our people.  He asked if our church is growing, and said we have his support.  Of course he spoke French, so our DPA had to interpret for us, nevertheless, it was a great meeting.
